PONCHO GRANDE

 I love to wear a Poncho and it comes in handy when I go on those early morning walks with my dog Jesse.  I just put it on and we’re out the door. This poncho is meant to be oversized with a Garter Stitch edge all around and a sweet eyelet stitch pattern in a contrasting color accompanied by the stockinette stitch for the body that gives it that little something special. This is an easy and pleasant knit ending with a garment you will wear for a lifetime.

Something Really Cute

One of the knitters who purchased my Earth Lap Blanket Pattern sent me photos of the two blankets she knit for her Dogs.  SO CUTE I had to share.

SWATCHING FOR FALL/WINTER 2016

I know we are just starting Spring here is Southern Californian but when you Design Knitting Patterns you have to think ahead and I'm swatching for Magnum cowls, scarfs and sweaters.

Well the cooler weather is just around the corner and at THHE LITTLE KNITTER in Atwater Village, Ca we are constantly being asked for a Very Easy to knit Hat patterns, so this year I Designed 3 and you can buytthe patterns on RAVELRY or at TLK.

EARTH LAP BLANKET

 I was inspired by the trend for Natural dyes and colors when I Designed this Lap Blanket. I wanted to use two Earth tone colors and this is what I came up with.  It is very basic since I used The Wonderful Garter Stitch but I added a little detail when you change colors just to spice it up.  That being said I have a friend who is knitting it and she chose Bright colors and it looks great.

SIZE: 42” W X 46” L

YARN: Cascade Ecological Wool100% Undyed Peruvian Highland

            478 yds, 437 m, 250 g. Color A 2-Antique #8019, Color

            B 2-Ecrue #8010

GAUGE: 13 sts & 26 rows = 4”

KNOTTED RIB COWL

I just listed this pattern (KNOTTED RIB COWL) on RAVELRYand etsy Edna Hart Knits.  I wanted to do a cow using the Chunky Magnum and here it is.  A really quick knit with an easy to remember stitch pattern with a dramatic result.

At Last my SPORTY SHAWL pattern is listed on RAVERLY.  Everything thakes longer than I would like.

I JUST HAVE TO WRITE THE PATTERN....well not just but that's what I have to do. 
This is knit with Cascade Heritage which is a 75% super wash merino wool, 25% nylon. I used US 8, 32" circular needles.

SPRING FLING MINI SHAWL

I love a Shawl.  It’s a great accessory and can freshen up any outfit. This shawl is asymmetrical  which creates  interest in the shape and stripe pattern.  The finished Shawl has a nice drape and is very comfortable.  I used the wonderful garter stitch which makes it an easy knit and the color changes will keep your interest.  Hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

SIZE: Wing Span-60”  X 43” X 36”

YARN: Cascade Ultra Pima.  One of each color. 100% cotton, 220 yds / 200 meters, 3.5oz / 100g

Color 1- #3759-Taupe, Color 2- #3767-Bright Coral,  Color 3-#3732-Bright Light Aqua.

GAUGE: 13 sts & 39 rows = 4” (not that crucial on this project but good to know )

TOOLS:  US 8 / 5mm –circular 32” Knitting Needle, Yarn Needle
