Comfy-Cozy Shawl

SNEAK PEEK  pattern will be ready next week and will be listed on Ravelry 
Giving a feeling of comfort, warmth and relaxation, that’s what I had in mind when I Designed this oversized shawl. I decided to keep it simple by using the Stockinette and Garter Stitch.  This is a shawl you can just leave on your couch or favorite chair ready for use.

 This shawl is Large and Cozy just the way I wanted it.  My idea was to create a stitch sequence pattern that would showcase the 3 colors of Rios Yarn I used yet be easy to remember so it would be a relaxing project to work on.

SIZE: 72” wingspan X 54” X 43”

YARN: Malabrigo Rios, Pure Merino Superwash, 210 yds, 100g, 2 hanks each of Color 043 Plomo (A), 2096 Sunset (B), 131 Sand Bank (C)

GAUGE: 14st & 26 rows = 4”, do swatch in stitch pattern

TOOLS: US 10 needle 32” circular needle 4.5 mm, yarn needle

NEW SHAWL DESIGN ON THE NEEDLES

This Shawl Design is inspired by the kids t-shirts from the 1950's and I found the perfect yarn. Started kitting about 2 weeks ago.  Making progress!

A small shawl this time.  I'm doing the standard shape and keeping it small. Using a combination of Debbie Bliss Rialto Luxury Sock and Jagger Spun Heather-YUM!

Half way on my latest Shawl Design.  I wanted to work with different textures for this project and I settled on a Malabrigo Sock, Ito and Shibui combination.  Wool, paper and kid mohair yarns.  It's a Fringe as you go along Design.  Looking forward to it being finished.

I'm enjoying this project.  I have tried two other times to knit this Design and I have not been happy.  The concept is to start with a two color repeat pattern that begins with two knit rows and with every two color repeat increase the rows by two.  The other shawl were rectangles and the results were too subtle.  I think this is the one!

One of the three Designs I am working on at the moment.  A shawl using Malabrigo Rios Super Wash.  I did a Baby blanket a years ago with Rios and I Loved knitting with this Beautiful Yarn.  Making Progress actually I'm in the home stretch.

It’s no secret I Love Shawls.  They’re so versatile and can be worn year round.  For this shawl I wanted to work with one of my favorite stitches-The Seed Stitch and just to spice it up I added a detail when I changed yarn color. This Shawl is knit side to side and it’s a lot of fun if I do say so myself.

SIZE: Wingspan 80” X 60” Deep

YARN: Kenzie by Hikoo 160 yds / 50 grams, 50% New Zealand   Merino, 25% Nylon, 10% Angora, 10% Alpaca, 5%Silk Noils

Color 1-1022-Ruapehu, Color 2-1024-Hokitika, Color 3-Glacier

2 of each color-6 balls total.

         

GAUGE: 16 sts & 43 rows = 4”

TOOLS: US 9 32” circular needle (need circular for the length)

              Yarn needle

  

STITCH: Seed Stitch-Row 1 k1, p1.  Row 2 p1, k1 (p where you knit

              and k where you p)
